BIODYL: injectable solution. Treatment of muscle disorders. Allspecies

Composition:

Each 100ml of biodyl contain

  • Cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12)- 0.05g
  • Sodium selenite – 100mg
  • Adenosine triphsophate (ATP) tetrasodium dihydrate salt – 0.001g
  • Potassium aspartate semihydrate – 1000g
  • Magnesium aspartate tetrahydrate – 1500g
  • Excipient q.s – 100ml

Indications: Fatigue, convalescence, poor start in young animals, travel sickness, conditioning racehorses and jumpers, myopathy-dyspnea syndrome in calves (delayed type), white muscle disease, muscular dystrophy in herbivora, stiff-lamb disease, enzootic paraplegia in lambs, myositis in horses, azoturia (typing-up).

Doses:

Route of administration: subcutaneous, intramuscular or slow intravenous injection.

Dosage:

  • Horses: slow intravenous or intramuscular injection: one injection of 20 ml per animal every 4 or 5 days (total of 4 to 5 injections)
  • Cattle: intramuscular injection.
    • Mature cattle: 3 to 4 injections of 20 ml per animal at 48-hour intervals. For prevention of travel sickness: one injection of 20 ml per animal a few hour before loading (repeat, if necessary, 24 hours).
    • Calves: myopathies. Prevention: 4 injections of 10 ml per animal at 8-days intervals. Treatment: 3 to 4 injections of 10 ml per animal at 24-hour interval. Prevention of travel sickness: 1 to 2 injections of 10 ml per animal at 24-hour intervals.
  • Lambs: intramuscular injection. Myopathies. Prevention: 2 to 4 injections of 2 ml per animal at 4 to 5-day intervals. Treatment: 3 to 4 injections of 2 ml per animal at 24-hour intervals.
  • Pigs: intramuscular injection: 2 to 10 kg: one injection of 2 ml per animal daily; 10 to 50 kg: one injection of 5 ml to 10 ml per animal daily.
  • Dogs: intramuscular injection: one injection of 2 to 5 ml per animal daily.
  • Cats: subcutaneous route: one injection of 1 ml per animal daily.
  • Poultry: oral: 5 ml per litres of drinking water.

Packaging: Vial of 50 ml.

Composition per syringe of 9.1 g:

  • Intramammary cream Cloxacillin (as benzathine) – 0.5g
  • Octyl gallate – 0.45mg
  • Propyl gallate – 0.45mg
  • Long acting excipient

Properties:

Cloxacillin is a bactericidal antibiotic belonging to the penicillin’s group, actve against penicillin G resistant organisms by producing pnicillinase enzymes such as some strains of Straphylococcus aureus.

The antimicrobial action is the same than for penicillin’s. The affect the external bacterial sell wall. This lead to abnormal elongation of cell, osmotic lysis and death of the susceptible bacteria.

Cloxaciline is active against most organisms responsible for mastitis during the dry period, such as Staphylococcus aureus (including peniciline resistant staphylococci), Streptococcus agalactiae, Streptococcus dysgalactiae and S. uberis. The use of cloxacillin as a benzathine salt associated with a long acting excipient allows to develop an activity in the quarter lasting more than 30 days.

Indications:

Mastitis caused by or associated with organisms susceptible to cloxacillin during the dry period.

  • dairy cows: mastitis preventive treatment by systematic treatment at drying off.
  • cows: treatment of mastitis caused by organisms susceptible to cloxacillin

Administration route and Dosage:

  • Intramammary route, after disinfection of the teats.
  • 1 syringe per quarter.

Package: Box of 12*4 syringes with aseptic towels.

Composition:

Injection Each 100 ml contains:

  • Calcium gluconate – 28g
  • Magnesium hypophosphite, hexahydrate – 9g
  • Boric acid – 5.75g
  • Sodium methyl hydroxybenzoate – 0.1g
  • Sodium propyl hydroxybenzoate – 0.01g

Indications: Preventive and curative treatment of acute calcium deficiency (hypocalcemia) and magnesium deficiency: milk fever, parturient paresis, lactation tetany, eclampsia…

Administration and dosage:

  • Parenteral route: I.M., S.C., slow I.V.
  • 5 to 10 ml per 10 kg of live weight.
  • For 2 to 3 consecutive days.

Packaging: Bottle of 250 ml, bottle of 500 ml.

TRYPAMIDIUM – SAMORIN: or curative and preventive use against trypanosomiasis due to T.Vivax, T.Congolense, T.Brucei + T.Evensi in cattle, sheep, goats, camels, horses, dogs, buffaloes

Direction for use an preparation of injectable solution:

  • Sterile water for injection should be used to prepared solutions of SAMORIN, but boiled, COOLED water or distilled water may be used when this is not available.
  • Dissolve 1 g of powder in 50 ml of water or 125 mg of powder in 6.25 ml of water to make a 2% w/v solution.
  • Use a sterile container in which to prepare the solution and prevent contamination with dust and dirt.

Packaging:

10 x 1 g sachets – each to make 50 ml of 2% w/v solution or 100 ml of 1% w/v solution.
